Happy Sunday! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend. :) Today is my parents 40th anniversary. Happy Anniversary!
It’s been a quiet weekend for me being back to my single self. My Mom returned to Wisconsin Thursday. She came to visit me at Christmas then stayed longer when I injured my foot. That’s 3 months! It feels strange to be in my house now without her here.
The serious pile of mail she returned home to.
Thankfully, I’ve rebounded quickly from my foot injury. I began physical therapy two weeks ago and it’s done wonders. I’m able to walk without my brace and only wear it working out or when I leave home now. My foot continues to have some residual pain from inflammation and increasing my activity. I’m able to walk “normal” picking up my heal, which I could not do last week. Also, I’ve been able to do more weight-bearing activities without pain. This week I was able to bike standing in spin class for the first time. I have 4 weeks left of physical therapy. My focus is building strength in my foot. My therapist told me that maintaining my fitness with non weight-bearing activities (i.e. biking & swimming) during my injury has helped my recovery.
Still I won’t be running or walking 13 miles this week, but I know I’m close to being back on the road. I can’t wait to sign up for my next half marathon. I’ve even been contemplating a Triathlon. I swore I would never do one because I hated swimming. Through my injury, I discovered I actually like swimming and it’s given me a new fitness challenge to tackle.
Here are my Sunday Funday picks for the week.
1. Mom’s - They’re the best part of life & I can’t imagine my life without my Mom.
VERY old pic from when I was a baby….but it’s one I’ve always cherised.
3. Greek Chia Breakfast Pudding - Desert for breakfast!
4. 12 things you didn’t know your iPhone could do - A few things I didn’t know….
#2 – Double clicking the space bar will add a period automatically to the end of a sentence
#4 – Emoticons setting on my iPhone to insert smiley faces into posts or texts
#5 – Double tapping the bottom of a page takes you to the top
I love all of these, but these are OMG I love these…
#7 - Trust. In troubled times, just know that the Universe has your back and everything is going to be alright. If you’re not there yet, trust in hindsight you will understand. Your higher good is being supported, always
#12 – Perfectionism is an illusion. A painful one at that. Ease up. Strive for excellence, sure, but allow yourself room to make mistakes and permission to be happy regardless of outcome.
#25 - Say “YES!” to everything that lights you up. Say “no”, unapologetically, to anything that doesn’t excite you or you don’t have the bandwidth for. Time is one of our most precious resources that we can never get back. Manage it wisely.
#37 – You are the guru. For much of our lives, we have been told what do, how to think, what looks good, what “success” is. You don’t have to buy into any of it. Feel free to peel back the layers. Think for yourself. Break the mold. When you stop doing what everybody else wants you to do and start following your own intuition, you will be ridiculously happy.
7. Turkey Meatball Spaghetti Squash – Almost too pretty to eat!
What are your favorites this week?
Hope you have a relaxing and fun Sunday!
